This Gateau cake is an abstract design, each section is randomly juxtaposed, as in abstract art seen in art galleries.
This cake started with two batches of birthday cake mix. Basic vanilla sponge and basic chocolate sponge.
I doused raspberries in cherry juice and almond essence. I mixed some heavy whipping cream with marzipan crumbled very small, and sandwiched the cake with this.
Topped with birthday candles. This cake can be made even more delicious by melting dark chocolate, adding almond essence and drizzling on top.
Cherries can be added for an authentic taste. The cherry juice can be thickened with corn starch and sugar added.
Add a little fresh lemon juice as well, adjust to taste for a cherry tang. Serve with cherry cola or cherry aid.
