What Is RSS?

holding birthday cake

"RSS" means "Really Simple Syndication." But that is just a fancy way of saying that you can keep up with all the entries to kids-birthday-cake-ideas.com without having to check the site every week to see "what's new," including the latest news from your favorite news network and just about everything.

Anywhere on the Web that you see the orange RSS button rss-button (they're on almost every site you visit these days), just click it and you'll get that sites news feed as it is added to that site.

RSS is great!

No spam. It's so easy to subscribe and unsubscribe. You just have to delete the feed. And once you start, you'll soon be tracking all your other favorite interests and news in the world.

How Can I Get RSS Feed?

Download a free RSS Reader first. This is special software that reads the "RSS feeds."

(Skip to bottom if you do not want to download software.)

For Windows use RSS Reader
For Mac use NetNewsWire

Once you're set up with an RSS Reader in STEP 1... Right-click (control-click for Mac users) on any RSS button . Then...

Select "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Link Location" or "Copy Link to Clipboard" for Mac, and paste that URL into your RSS Reader that you just set up in Step 1.

And that's it...you're subscribed!

Don't Want To Download New Software?

Some people prefer to view RSS feeds through their browsers. If that is you, Google, Yahoo!, MSN and others have simple one-step solutions.

XML RSS Add to Google Add to My Yahoo!
Add to My MSN Add to Newsgator Subscribe with Bloglines

To do this instead, just click on one of their buttons that you see in the bottom left corner of every page on kids-birthday-cake-ideas.com. If you don't yet have an account, you can set up one after clicking on the button.

Follow the instructions after that. Easy.
